What If Zac Brown Were a Survivor Player?

The Question Nobody Asked

Zac Brown showed up on Survivor 50 for a special appearance. One episode. Four confessionals. A guitar. A little bit of chicken fried.

He's not a player. He was never in the game. But we have a statistical framework that measures screen presence, and we have no self-control. So we asked: if Zac Brown were a player, what would his Jeff's Index look like?

The Math

Jeff's Index measures how much Probst and the production team invested in a player's screen presence. It's built from two confessional metrics — Confessional Share and Confessionals Per Episode — plus bonuses for Probst Player status and returnee seasons.

For Zac, this gets interesting fast.

Confessional Share is where it hurts. Four confessionals out of a full season's total puts him at roughly the 7th percentile — ranked #700 out of 751 players.

Confessionals Per Episode is where it gets fun. A 4.00 CPE is legitimately strong — good enough for #145 out of 751 players. That ties him with Tommy Sheehan, an actual Sole Survivor. It also puts him ahead of Colby Donaldson, Rudy Boesch, and Mike White. One episode. Better per-episode rate than legends.

And because Jeff clearly loves the guy? We gave him the 📣 Probst Player badge. That's +10 to Jeff's Index — the same bonus Rob Mariano, Tony Vlachos, and Parvati Shallow get. See where he'd stack up on the Jeff's Index & Confessionals leaderboard.

Jeff's Index rank #439 out of 751. Not last. Not even close to last. The Probst Player badge is doing heroic work here — without it he'd be down around #550.

The Fun Part

In one episode, Zac Brown recorded more total confessionals than 33 players managed in their entire Survivor careers. And his 4.00 Confessionals Per Episode is legit up there in the rankings.

He was on the island for a single afternoon.

It's all so weirdly impressive.

Some might say it's enough to bring a tear to Colby's eye.
